After a dry spell of many weeks, Washington caught a light rainfall last night, as the alleged result of the series of explosions which the experts of the Agricultural Department have been causing across the river. But the cost of the experiment has been too great in the sacrifice of nerves and comfort to make the plan entirely popular with Washington people. [1]
