In two flights at Edwards Air Force Base in the Southern California desert. The pilotless plane has flown up to 5 hours and 8 minutes and to altitudes of up to 36.000 feet-controlled entirely from computerized ground consoles.

As a civilian transport, the RPV could haul survival aids such as radios and medical supplies, fire retardants, crop dusts, sprays and fertilizers, seeding and stocking, weather modification chemicals or mail and freight, the Ames engineers point out. [1]
